There have been many changes with Gran Turismo franchise moving to the PSP both good and bad in my opinion. Hopefully I can accurately highlight both. Good points of the new Gran Turismo game on
the PSP is of course with anything on the Sony hand held gaming station, portability. Now you can take your racing fun to the next level with 4 player local game play, it is however to bad that they were not able to make this game 8 player with connectivity. In the newest edition to the GT legacy you will be able to jump in immediately to different tracks and your garage with great upgrades. Far faster that its predecessors where building your car was a tedious and time consuming project. At this time however it seems like Polyphony Digital has cut most if not all events out. There are no more 4x4 tracks and contest and a lot of other fun side events that were in the old GT games, do not worry drifters all the drifting events are still in place! However now you just hop in a car in go racing against only 3 other vehicles in each race.
After collecting your winnings after the race you simply buy the next available rinse and repeat. Although creativity for this series is lacking it seems like Polyphony Digital whole heartily attempted to pack as much as possible into the little PSP diskette. If they would have had a larger console to work with they may not have been as limited. Some new features that were packed though are a lot of fun for example letting friends trade cars with you or even share. There is even a option to let the AI race for you, but where is the fun in that?
Driving in the new GT on the PSP has severely limited the driving ability, but with such short movement from the PSP there is not much that Polyphony Digital could have done to improve upon this. At times it feels like you are in driving school floor boarding the car and slamming on the brakes. A true and honest career mode is severely lacking in this GT compared to the past career modes it is severely swinging in the wrong direction giving the game a lack of focus.
