A Boy and His Blob Game Review by Odwraca

A Boy and His Blob, a classic game revisited on the Wii by WayForward Technologies. I was very excited and pumped up to check this game out and relive some childhood memories of running around in a 2-D type environment. When this games predecessor was introduces in 1989 on the NES it had

many people excited about this adventure on a 8-Bit gaming console. Now 20 years later there was a gathering of gamers so to speak expecting the best from a game that childhood memories with a 5 button controller introduced.

Gamers... You have not been left down! This 1 player exciting adventure game not only lives up to its predecessor but brings in new fun to the series, old fans and newcomers will not be disappointing although as with any game it does bring some frustrations. The mostly hand drawn graphics really stand out and make this game intriguing and fun in a nostalgic type of way. The sound of the game is very good and really sounds like the game feels, the sometimes simple concept of the game can lead to some challenging and at times frustrating game play.

The true elements of this classic have not been squandered away, they are all still intact and untouched. After two decades of waiting The Boy and His Blob are still cruising through the universe trying to save blob kind with some newcomers introduced to help you along. The game introduces over 10 abilities for your blob to change into and help you throughout the game. Some of the ones that you will be using on a constant basis are the Tangerine Trampoline and the Licorice Ladder. Just remember that you have to keep on your toes and look out for those Jelly Beans!

The way that the game progresses is very simple and defined by your skills slowly getting better and better, WayForward surely showed off its skill with this one. You will have plenty of time throughout the game to enjoy your new found skills so do not rush through anything, enjoy the scenery puzzles and treasures to be found.
Unfortunately even with all the great things this game offers there are pitfalls and annoyances along the way. It seems like just one step in the wrong direction can send you tumbling to your death and being frustrated on where to go next is evident at times. However even with its qualms

and strange yet forgiven save system this game definitely has a classic and magical feel to it that all former and new players will enjoy.
